We have started this project in a small way, to share the news about my city, with some 20 members. Now this egroup is grown as a mega egroup with more than 1000 members and 10 volunteers. Mr. Senthil Kumar is the volunteer head, who is looking after the content. People from my town are living in countries like US, Canada, UAE etc. and this project is very popular among them.
Community Internet Project, is bringing web media solutions for small and medium business owners, institutions and individuals by building an integrated web environment (in 4 pages). It can do many things that a personal site can not do! All these effectiveness are coming at very reasonable and attractive price of INR 1499/Annum without any hidden costs.
Our coordinator Anand Nirup says,"The major problem with web media is dependability. Any one claim anything on the web! This uncertain nature is the root cause of many web project's failure. To remove this uncertainty we have developed "verified web" & "third party web" concepts and this will be the basic building blocks of our future CIP initiatives. Anyone can not put a site under CIP by paying just the money. He has to submit the required documents as a proof of their off-line business identity"
Many of us are not aware of the process and the purpose of the 'creation of this World Wide Web'. People from many walks of life has spent sleepsless nights to develop this giant medium.We have to 'DO' certain things to make this "People's Medium' a great success and hence I am writing this book (with the help of my friend Mr.D.L.Sivakumar, a high tech manager, living in Chicago) in the 'hard' form in my mother tongue Tamil. It will be translated and published in the web as an 'Open Source', in the year 2004.
We
are setting up our own digital studio to give shape to our creative projects,
in a scenic place called Palani, in the foot hills of Kodaikanal. We are publishing
an Ezine called Megaplanet for the last one year as bimonthly editions. This
magazine is a creative project run by the volunteers of worldmegaproject and
the (relaxed!) neobusiness community. This bimonthly magazine is helping us
to understand the cultural diversities of 'once distant continents and their
people. It is also reflecting some of the important events which are not covered
by mass media corporations. There are some section like Philosophy, Music, Question
